Krystal VanBuren
Krystal’s passion for serving others is what brought her into Human Resources. As our Director of People, Pace, & Culture, Krystal’s primary role is to serve the thing that keeps us going on a daily basis – our team. Krystal handles all things Human Resources from the beginning to the end of a person’s time with our company, from recruiting candidates, to onboarding new team members, to recognition, to benefits, to offboarding, and everything in between.

Krystal has her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management, which she utilized in hotel operations management for 12 years before moving into Human Resources, where she used her passion for helping her teams pursue their dreams on a more hands-on level. Krystal grew up in upstate NY and moved to Orlando, FL in 2014 to work for Hilton, and the opportunity to work with SHB in 2021 allowed her to pursue her career dreams while also going back to her upstate NY roots.

Reading, hiking, music (both listening and playing), watching movies, and going to theme parks with her friends
Fun Fact
Krystal is a sleep-walker! Growing up she used to sleep-walk and take all of the food out of the kitchen pantry and sleep in there, much to her family’s dismay.

Krystal takes the “People” and “Culture” in her title very personally. In everything she does, she ensures to advocate and do right by the team – because if the team is happy, Signature Home Buyers thrives! While of course always working on essentials like compliance and payroll, Krystal’s true love is in company culture and ensuring our team is living by Signature Home Buyers’ core purpose and values on a daily basis, and are recognized for their efforts.
